Whiteout is a weather condition in which you can’t see a “STOP, cliffs ahead” sign on the slope. You can’t see a rapidly approaching snowboarder from the left listening to his ipod and thinking where did everybody go. You can’t see if you are going downhill or uphill. Because of the snow and diffuse lighting from overcast clouds everything looks like milk. But in this case whiteout is a movie.
Whiteout is a 2000 Japanese film about a one-man fight against a terrorist attack at a dam in Japan, starring Yuji Oda Nanako Matsushima. It is a Die Hard-style movie made in Japan, but this is not the movie I am talking about.
Whiteout is also a snowboarding movie made by Whiteout Films from British Columbia. The riders list includes Trevor Andrew, Kale Stephens, Benji Ritchie, Reno B, Mikey Rencz, Eero Niemela, Lauri Heiskari, Devun Walsh and Iikka Backstrom.
