#10-11: Winter Surfing Under Snow Covered Mountains

The northern wind continues. I’m getting tired of it, but after a few days, when the surf hunger kicks back in, it’s better than nothing and here wo go again. So, the first day, it was one of the biggest surf/wind/wave forecasts here I have ever seen. The spot is fickle though, extra strong wind does not always translate into extra big waves. So this time it was big, but nothing out of the ordinary. Still the biggest “swell” of the winter here. Occasionally the wind was so strong it was blowing oxygen from under your nose making it hard to breathe haha, then a moment later, it was calm and glassy-er. Since the waves were ig wind didn’t bother us that much, but it was hard to get a really nice wall that didn’t close. Got a few gems, so it was a really good session. Next day was a bit smaller and the big waves were rare, but they were still there.

The wind was so strong it tore the roof of one of the local bars. The bridge back home was closed, so we were stuck there for an extra day. Still good times.
