Apart from the usual surfing rules (like surfing rule no.1: “Don’t drop in!”) and those other surfing rules (like surfing rule no. 357: “You are not allowed to wear a wetsuit if you are more than 100m away from the beach” or surfing rule 174: “Surf session is 37% better in new boardshorts”) there are also special Adriatic windswell chasing rules. Like the 1m rule: “If the blue column in the forecast is under 1m then it’s not worth driving south.” or “If you own a 4×4 pickup truck, you are guilty for the trenches in the road.” And then, there is this one: “Local surf most of the time is not worth spending your off days on.” Unless it’s that island spot working. So we took a day off and we rode south and it was sick. Even a bit bigger that the forecast promised, nice sets right from the start and 4h of fun until the wind turned and day ended.
