#47-49: Three Days and a Contest

Three days down south. The forecast was promising, but a bit unusual. It showed strong south wind slowly turning east further up the Adriatic sea you went. So at the spot there would be kind of offshore. But will the waves even make it up or would they just travel more towards Italy? And offshore is also only ok if it’s light, strong offshores here may look good from the shore, but are almost impossible to surf. The most classic forecast was for Friday afternoon. South wind, south waves, onshores. Nothing special, but the size was good and the session was good as well. It kind of turned out, this was the best session of the “swell”.

Saturday was contest day! Big shout out to Jure who organised a cool contest (btw, DryTide 30L waterproof backpack was one of the prizes, congrats Ivan!). The conditions were really nice to look at but not big enough to call them good for a shortboard. Side to offshore winds made the waves clean, if only they would be a little bit bigger. Still the contest session was nice and so was my session later in the afternoon.

Sunday was kind of similar, it looked it would be the biggest early in the morning so I got up before sunrise and was greeted by magical morning colors of a rising sun. What a dawn <3 ! Surf was similar to previous day, maybe a bit bigger, okay, but not epic.
