#75-76: Expectations

Surfer riding a small wave

After a sick surf November first day of December was a bit of a letdown. December sucks was the conclusion on Dec 1st :)

Expectations. We had two similar sessions over the weekend. Saturday was completely unexpected. It was supposed to be a lay day, easy hanging around the island, maybe some diving and snorkeling, good food, a movie and lots of sleeping. When we woke up the wind was unexpectedly strong and the sea was getting white with whitecaps. So we checked the webcam and surprise surprise, small waves were breaking in the bay. It wasn’t big, it wasn’t worth driving down from home, but since we were already there, water was still relatively warm, the norther wind not yet so cold and some bigger sets allowed for some turns. Fun two hour session.

Then there was Sunday. South wind should produce bigger waves, surfable at noon and growing in size towards the evening. The reality was that waves only grew enough to be surfable late in the day, most of the time they were even smaller that Saturday. Both sessions were similar, but first one was loads of fun and second one was fun as well. Hahaha. Expectations mean nothing. Surfing is fun.
