Parts of your body that move a lot during XY (insert your favorite wetsuit wearing water sport) will also rub againt the neoprene that you are wearing and that might cause uncomfortable skin chafing. This annoyance is also called wetsuit rash. It happens more often if your wetsuit is too big but sometimes it just happens…even if your wet fits you perfectly. This is especially uncomfortable if you use your wetsuit every day. The usual body part suspects for this are your neck, armpits, behind the knees and ballsack… with neck and armpits being the most common.
So what can you do?
- Wear a wetsuit that fits you, you want a snug fit.
- Wear a lycra under it, roll the lycra collar up so it covers your neck (for your armpits and neck).
- Wear a bathing suit (for your private parts).
- Use anti-chafing gel/cream on the troubled parts before chafing even starts.
