It’s weird, Italy is one of the most crowded surfing locations I know. At least if you go to the main well known spots. But just like magic, these crowds disappear in summer?! It is true that summer is not surfing season in Italy there are only a few swells in summer months and maybe all the surfers go someplace else, but it’s still weird just how much more empty the lineups are. So, the wave forecast was not stellar. Kind of small and windy. And it really didn’t get completely clean and glassy like it can here. But on the other hand, we had so many waves that I can not remember the last time I was so surfed out. Second day after three session I could barely move. Even resting was hard haha. We finished the trip with a mtb session in the mountains above Florence. At least that was the plan. But the bike park was closed due to Italien enduro national championship. So we cooled off in the mountains for a while, drove around a lot on some ridiculous roads that only google navigation takes you to, enjoyed some stunning views and had a few rides in another bike park at the other side of the mountains. Good times!
