#5: A Clean Full Moon Sunset Session

Not the best season. Apart from one of the best session ever at NOA, south winds didn’t deliver this year. So a little swell from the south combined with windless afternoon was enough for us to drive south. A little bump up to almost 1.5m in the forecast left us a bit disappointed when we got to the spot. It looked okay, but no 1.5m. And what made things even worse, here it usually looks worse than it is. Well, this time it looked good, kind of glassy, but once in the lineup, it was really hard to get a good wave. After a while the wind stopped and sun came out and it got really glassy. Perfect peaks started forming but before I could say damn, now it got really good, the swell dropped and it went back to being so so again. We moved to another peak and then suddenly fun sized lines started coming in from time to time making the whole session really fun. The full moon came out, the sun was going down, painting the clouds on the east in orange and purple colors and with clear skies above us it was kind of epic. And cold. With the absence of wind and with sun shining it was almost warm for a while, but when sets became more rare and there was more and more sitting and waiting, we all started shivering. I went out and took a couple of photos and it was time to go home.
