#53-54: Sailors in the Desert Strike an Oasis

This season sucks. Last local surf was, I am not sure, but around 2 months ago. My friend that meticulously keeps track of all of his surf sessions by location put some numbers together and this season has around 20 less surf days that last year season…so far. After a while you start forgetting to check the forecast every day and you vaguely remember that you used to surf once:). But when an orange blob appeared on the other side of  Italy we all jumped. Facebook chats were popping up like zits on prom night and we witnessed I think the biggest surf invasion to the Italy west coast ever. What was even funnier was the fact that it looked like most of local surfers were away on vacations so lineups were pretty mellow  and not that crowded at all. And while home was pummeled by first cold front of the ending summer with temperatures dropping to 10C and constant rain, we were basking in summer sun and glassy waves. We surfed for 13 hours in two days, but while leaving for home we felt more like continuing our trip chasing waves around Italy than going back to work.
