Probably the closest spot to home, it's not great, but with winter darkness at 4pm it's hard to get somewhere else after work.

Sardina was not that good surf wise. But as soon as we got back to mainland it was as someone has turned on the switch and the wave party began. I have missed the first two days of the November wave festival in the Adriatic due to Sardinia trip, but after just one day of work it was on. A quick jump down south to the closest spot and some really small waves. Searching for something rideable we ended up right on the point on a slab like wave that offered some really fun takeoffs, especially when it got a bit bigger during the session.  In the windswell mess the peak is really like something out of the ocean. It sucks water and it stands up and if you are late you go over the falls. Fun afternoon.

Then the weekend came and my birthday on Friday. Busy work day with meetings and once I was finished at work it was already dark outside. But it was my bd and I was set on surfing that day. So we arrived on the spot around 8pm, I have put on my waterproof headlamp and with some help from the full moon and car lights from the shore I caught a few night waves. Van party, thanks for coming.

Next day we were hoping for some swell remains and that the west wind would not ruin it too much. Instead we got some solid lines coming from the west and one of the best surfs with west wind on this spot. And clear skies. We surfed into the afternoon.

Next week south wind kicked in full force. Which usually means the island. Whole north Adriatic was just magic. The best possible conditions you can think of – strong south wind in south and central Adriatic and no wind in the north. Just witnessing big waves with no wind was special. Surfing them even more so. Even got one wave at the misto spot before it got dark. Yeah!

Another weekend another forecast. Not complaining. Haha. Friday after work it’s hard to get any further than the closest spot that was luckily kind of working. 3m waves in the middle of the Adriatic meant like 0.5m on this spot. So we surfed the bay for a while, easy session, just to warm up for the following two days. Then I noticed the waves picked up a bit and that the left point started working. I paddled over to the point and then could not stop paddling for and hour. One hour of non stop paddling to battle the strong current at the point for a few fun waves. Yeah, there goes the easy warm up session haha.

Novigrad 15.11.

Saturday was supposed to be small. Another easy session to warm up for the Sunday. Right:). Morning lines were big, clean and really good. After an hour west wind started to blow and made the conditions a bit less epic. But then around noon it stopped and waves turned completely glassy. I don’t think ocean waves ever get that glassy. Size was still good for a few hours and for another super fun session. What looked like it would be only surfable in the morning was surfable until 3pm.

NOA 16.11.

Sunday was another full on south wind day. Big waves, strong wind and everything out of control. We did found some nuggets in the mud though:).
