This year was the second in my MTB “career” and here are some photos from my trips. My friend here will soon need new tires… I am not sure if people were stealing the signs or if the barbed wire is a reminder of a much more violent and bloody past that these beautiful mountains have seen. Sunny weather and autumn colors. Love the colors. I said it before and I can say it again – nature is the best artist. The best stories always begin with:”Behind seven mountains…”. Well – this is this place. Towards the top it got to rocky to pedal. I hate it when you have to carry your bike but it does make a nice photo. Sheep on the Italian side of the mountain. And more breathtaking views. From Mt. Matajur. I love this photo. Tnx Matko for taking it. …once said – you should ride mountainbikes. If it is really good then usually the only photo comes from the parking lot. It was really good :). Same autumn but different time. This photo reminds me of that Life Cycles movie. This was the first time we went riding on fresh snow. It’s really cool you just have to pick a bit steeper terrain…avoid the flats. The 2012 was Everybody go to France year. Our bike trip was to Portes du Soleil. Only shade was in the forest. It was like 30C 2000m above sea. Early summer and snow leftover put to good use. One of the things on my bucket list is to get really really really muddy on a mountainbike. A nice attempt. This is at our local hill. Dog is an Italian greyhound and can run for 20km behind our bikes. Never tired. North shore spiral. Dead tire after a long day of riding. When you ride your bike uphill you have lots of time to look around and appreciate nature. Sometimes you find something like this. One of the trails did not cross the snow but we made a detour :) This is my bike and I’m happy with it. The steepest part of one of nicer trails back home. And when you get to the top you can have some fresh cheese. Above Chatel, France. 2012 was also he bike park year for me. Here is a nice berm from one of the local parks. This is the best natural trail back home. I love it. The mobile phone has this feature that it always rings at the most impractical moments. I managed to tear my rear derailleur cable twice this season. Not sure how… This trail was sooo sick. It had everything thins singletrack, fast meadows, technical rocky parts and amazing views. This one is from a bike park in Czech republic called Spicak. Nice park, small and very well kept. This one is from the panorama trail in Chatel, France. Another photo from one of our bike parks. We managed to catch the last cable car to the top and this is what we got. When the sun get low on the horizon you get the sickest shots. I need a faster camera :) A friend likes to pimp his bike and one of the things be bought are there smiley face valve caps. Cool. A trail that takes you back from Morzine to Les Gets. More than 1000m of descent. Quite crazy. Another shot from local bike park. Another one from the panorama trail in Chatel, France. This is a view somewhere near Champery in Switzerland.
