After a successful trip my friends made last week it was time for another island hop. And again – the Adriatic sea delivered. Endlessly peeling waves and surprisingly warm water and weather for this time of year. We always kind of knew there is surf potential on some of the islands exposed to the open sea, but with the usual and most consistent spot being on mainland we always took the cozy option. It takes a huge storm that makes it maxed out to kick us in the butt to look for other places.
Apart from Krk that is connected to the mainland with a bridge all other islands are accessible only by ferries. Which means more planning and keeping up with ferry timetables, less highways, more local roads, longer drives, higher costs…more fun?
Hell yeah! Now I’m just crossing my fingers that Hercules brings something to this landlocked sea ours. I can’t remember when it was the last time I was so pumped on a surf trip to our local sea. Yes, we all want a replay :).
Good times…
