In the past I have reviewed the big 50 liter waterproof travel backpack from DryTide. That backpack is huge and will fit all your gear for waterproof travels. But for daily use it is a bit too big. So I’m happy for the new 30 liter daypack that is small enough to be used every day. The streamlined and clean look if this backpack makes it look really elegant. Or at least it will absolutely not stand out in the middle of the city like almost all other waterproof backpacks do. You know the ones, plastic looking bright colored shiny bags. The new 30L daypack is something else. I would probably be even comfortable taking it to a business meeting. It will feel like at home in the middle of the city weather you are cycling in rain, going to school, college, commuting to work, using public transport or just walking around the city shopping. I will also fit right in for shorter hikes in bad weather, going to the gym and so on.
On the other hand this is durable and waterproof backpack that can take on all the places you will bring it to. Surf trips, kayaking, hiking, stand up paddling, sailing, boating, going to the beach etc… Here is how it looks
So what do you get with this waterproof backpack? The backpack looks well made using high quality waterproof materials. It has one 30L waterproof main compartment that also has two internal pockets:
These two pockets can hold your surfboard fins, wallet, phone, passport etc… everything you don’t want to throw directly into the main compartment. The main compartment closes using a roll down top closure. For fast closure and when there is no danger of really heavy rain or backpack falling into the water there is also a top closing buckle that opens and closes the main compartment in a blink of an eye.
Then there are two external pockets. Both have waterproof zippers. Bigger one can fit things up to the size of a beach towel or a hoodie. Smaller one fits your wallet, phone, keys etc…:
The big external pocket is big enough for your wet snorkeling gear, a wetsuit top and boardshorts etc… This way you can keep your wet things away from your dry ones. Or vice versa, you can use the external pocket for some dry clothes and the main pocket for wet wetsuits.
Then there is a water bottle pocket on one side of the backpack, the other side has daisy chain loop, so you can attach things to your backpack.
