Easy Saturday drive down to the coast, afternoon surf and then on to the island (not THE island). Waves were again bigger and again there was that wave size/wind strength combo that even though there is wind, waves are still ok. It was big enough to make you think twice if you want to surf all the way right to the inside and then paddle back out through a series of whitewater. You would never believe how close together the breaking waves are on the inside with 3-4s period. It’s mostly just duck diving without paddling and getting stuck in turbulence over shallow flat rocks. Two rounds like that and you are dead. It’s better to paddle along the shore and then go back out through the channel. I mean, it’s not really a channel, but it’s easier to paddle out there. Since it was Saturday, everyone was there. Even the long lost sons Sugar, Žiki and Andro. So we hit some arguably tasty pizza in Pula after the session to have a few beers to end a nice day.
