When "The search" is full of hope but then after hours of driving ends with the usually cabbage and beans spot that suddenly turns in an almost offshore and glassy chocolate cake. It's Friday, it's almost six o'clock and our bellies are full:).
Random sleepover in Ferrara on the way to the west coast. Random&unusual slows down the time.
Changing your location many times in one day will fill your memory banks with enough info to fool you into thinking you are already traveling for weeks. Surf spot check near Livorno.
When you pull up to a secret spot and there are like 50 people in the water :). Can't complain about the view though!
The view had people running down the cliff.
So it's worth checking twice :)
Random tip - find something to frame your photos.
Laugh. When your buddy with a serious face tells you to buy green peppers instead of red ones for dinner because red ones contain lots of sugar while he is holding marble cake and chocolate cookies in his shopping basket.
Winter surfing. Cold water slows down your face muscles so it takes twice as long to say: "Sick wave bro!" to your surfing buddy. And while brains still function at full speed your tongue can't keep up and it all comes out like "Signgnmhmpf ro!". Add thumbs up for clarification.
Second session of the day was a bit forced. The break was too short, it was getting cold and the sea did not look very inviting. Fuck it, lets go. In 10 minutes the sea turned glassy, crowds grew thin and we swapped long righthand walls under the evening sky that was giving us a color show of a lifetime. I've seen plenty of sunsets but this was the sickest one yet <3. We surfed till we could not see a thing.

On Sunday morning we milked the remains of the swell in increasing offshores.
