#74-76: Sicily Surfing

Mid Autumn or “the dark ages” as I like to call them is the perfect time to go to southern Europe. In winter even the south of Europe is usually too cold for those chasing the endless summer, but the month of November it is perfect. We found an excuse to go in the fact that both of our birthdays (me and my girlfriend) are almost on the same day and that it would be really sick to spend them somewhere other than home. Couple this with really cheap plane tickets and the plan was set. 5 days of Sicily with a van. First two days we were waiting for waves and doing the tourist stuff like sleeping on Etna vulcano and trying to climb down the Scala dei Turchi cliffs to avoid walking all around. Then it was surfing time, first the west coast and then two days on the SE. With sun and warm water (23C!) I even managed to do a boardshorts session down in the south. I did a longer article with tips on surfing in Sicily the first time I went there so check it out. I added a few more spots to the checklist down in the Ragusa area so the trip was super fun!
