It is a reflection of his surf experiences, his personality, that is transferred to other surf school surf instructors. So first a little bit of background, how the Atlantic Coast Surf School was born.
I’ve met Pedro while I was living the #vanlife in Portugal and we hit it off right from the start. You know how surfers that see each other for the first time can instantly start talking about surfing and can talk for hours like the are some kind of old friends:). Pedro is a passionate surfer born one-step from the Atlantic Ocean. Discovering and embracing surf while living in the Azorean Islands left a big mark on his life. Combining that with a huge travel bug, Pedro soon left his job at the University and set himself for a life of travelling and surfing through the five continents.
From the iconic breaks of the Gold Coast in Australia or the jungle surrounded perfect waves in the Mentawaii and Nias island, offshore west Sumatra in Indonesia, to the long Moroccan right pointbreaks, Pedro lived the “bela vida”. To pay for his travel bills he started teaching surfing in surf schools and surfcamps in the SW of France and surf schools in Portugal (Algarve).
The passion for teaching surfing has grown both from the opportunity to work by the ocean and surf every day, and having the amazing feeling of absorbing the energy of people when they catch their first white foam or their first green wave! This passion has inevitably become a career, linked to the ocean and the transmission of knowledge and experiences of surfing.
After 15 years travelling and surfing around the globe, teaching surf in SW France and in the Algarve, Pedro realized that he has his own personal surf paradise right at home. Home is the chosen spot to be! Praia Azul, surrounded by Ericeira, Santa Cruz and Peniche is Pedro’s paradise! Away from the crowds, close to epic waves!
